When to Toss

Hello and Happy Saturday Lovelies, I know I have been MIA this past week and I am sorry, I haven’t been feeling well, due to flare ups from my Fibromyalgia-it SUCKS!- but I think the worst part is over and I’m back to my normal everyday pain levels👍, enough about that lets get into something more fun. Today we are talking about ‘makeup expiration’ when you should toss.

‘When to Toss’

  • Mascara: 2-3 months
  • Liquid Eyeliner: 2-3 months
  • Cream Eyeshadow: 3-6 months
  • Liquid Foundation: 6-12 months
  • Lipgloss: 12-18 months
  • Powder Foundation: 18 months
  • Cream Blush: 1 year
  • Liquid Concealer: 1 year
  • Lipstick & Lipliner: 1 year
  • Pencil Eyeliner (sharpened): 1-2 years
  • Powder Blush: 2 years
  • Powder or Stick Concealer: 2 years
  • Powder Eyeshadow: 2 years
  • Face Powder: 2 years

Skincare & Haircare

‘When to Toss’

  • Loofah: 1-2 months
  • Acne Products: 3-12 months
  • Anti-Aging Products: 3-12 months
  • Face Moisturizer: 1 year
  • Sunscreen: 1-3 years
  • Shampoo & Conditioner: 2 years
  • Nail Polish: 2 years
  • Body Lotion (w/ Pump): 2-3 years
  • Hair Styling Products: 2-3 years
  • Perfume: 2-4 years
  • Body Wash: 3 years

You can always check the back label of your product, chances are there’s a little symbol that looks like an open jar with a number and the letter ‘M’ or ‘Y’ (6M… 6 months or 6Y… 6 Years) it stands for how long the product is good for after opening. You can use this as a guideline if it’s available. Also if the product smells funny or it is starting to separate your best bet is to toss it.

I hope you all found this helpful in some way. Thanks for reading and being patient while I’ve been sick unable to write. Until next time!💋
Hey its that girl Anna
