Happy Saturday Lovelies, I hope all of you had a good week. Recently Tarte came out with their new Amazonian Clay Foundation Stick, I ordered it the day it came out. That’s what today’s post is about, a first impression/review of the new stick foundation.
Tarte Clay Stick Foundation
- Creamy & Matte
- Natural & Buildable Coverage
Now I went in wanting to LOVE this foundation and I gave it a couple of tries, however I just don’t feel that it lived up to the Amazonian Clay Products that Tarte puts out. I love their full-coverage Amazonian clay foundation, its one of my favorite, so the thought of this being in a stick was just awesome.
I finished apply all my makeup at about 9am Friday 6/2 and right after application the foundation looked and felt nice, it did settle into my lines under my eyes, but other than that I was happy.
Around 11am the foundation was starting to show my pores, separate slightly, and rub off my nose, I didn’t see any sort of matte finish like the website claimed. I was starting to get a little bummed since it had only been 2 hours and I hadn’t really done much but ride in the car.
My final check in time was at 2pm and when I took time to look at my face I was quite disappointed with what I saw. It looked as if I had been wiping my face off all day, but I hadn’t touched my face since I finished my makeup at 9am. The foundation had separated and just disappeared in some places, like my forehead, chin, sides of my nose and cheeks.
The stick foundation does not live up to the claims on Tarte’s website. It did not last 12-hour, it wasn’t “weightless” and it wasn’t matte. Once I had all the foundation blended it felt heaven and sticky, I did give it a fighting chance with a setting powder(the one I always use) and a setting spray. I only wore this foundation for 5 hours and it was just like I wiped most of it off. So is it worth $39? No. Would I purchase again? No. Do I recommend this foundation? No.
